Police Officer Recruit & Police Officer

Once accepted to join the Suffolk Police Department, you will begin your career as a Police Officer Recruit (unless hired as a Certified Police Officer). Upon graduating from the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy and successfully completing both Field Training and the 12 month probationary period, you will be promoted to the rank of Police Officer.
