Marine Patrol Unit

The Marine Patrol Unit patrols the waterways to both enforce the boating laws and to give aid and assistance to boaters in distress. The Marine Patrol Unit works closely with the Coast Guard to achieve their goals. The Marine Patrol Unit’s season is from May to September, although a boat is always ready for deployment. The Marine Patrol Unit provides assistance with multiple ancillary units to include Dive, Search and Rescue, Suffolk Fire Department MIRT team, as well as assistance with Special Operations during various special events.
